Science Fiction 

I have been reading Science Fiction since I was grass-high to a knee-hopper and started the age of 9 or 10 and acquired a copy of I Robot and went on from there. I concentrated on what is commonly called 'hard' science fiction - I can't be having all this fantasy stuff, although there is a gray area in-between.

• Mote in Gods Eye - Niven
• and others

I was also fascinated by Submarine adventures (post WWII) nuclear subs in that warfare under water can be viewed as similar to what space warfare may become. This also leads on to warfare on the high seas during the golden age of the galleons - Sir Francis Drake and Trafalgar etc. Some wonderful stories by O'Brien, Showel Styles, and others
