| Hi , Thanks I'll let you know when it arrives. I read this book back in the 70s as a child and thought of it recently when I met a young girl called Charlotte and asked her if she'd read it. I did a google search for her and I was interested to read that the later edition had a different ending. I chose your copy as it was a 1975 edition which must have been the one I read originally. Thanks for your note and I eagerly
await the arrival of Edward Longshanks.
I read one or two of Plaidy's
later books as a result of browsing in my local book shop. I got
"hooked" as did a couple of my friends and I went back to the
beginning - The Bastard King -
and have been successful, until now,
in finding them in sequence at the local library. Neither the Los
Angeles nor Santa Barbara County library could locate Edward
Longshanks. But the librarian gave me the Bookfinder.com web
site, and voila !!
As I continue through
them, if I cannot locate one, rest assured you will hear from me again..

week and I enjoyed starting it over the rainy weekend! It is in

to know that Kathleen Wade lived with my grandfather, Eric Benfield (author of Purbeck Shop, etc) for many years. This is the first time I've bought one of her books and it'll be interesting to see how she measures up to the other female thriller writers of her day :-) Regards, Lesly Benfield |
